NIGERIA: Protest by Lagos community halts activities at state secretariat

LAGOS — Activities at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, were yesterday, brought to a halt when aggrieved residents of the Badia communities, Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, led by a Lagos lawmaker, stormed the State House to protest the abandonment of Lagos Metropolitan Development Governance Project, LMDGP, in the council.
The protesters, who were led by the lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency II, Mr. Olumuyiwa Jimoh, arrived the Assembly complex at about 9:00 a.m., to express their dissatisfaction over level of work on the projects.
