Sapele—Residents of Oghara, the administrative headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, have expressed worries over indiscriminate packing of tankers on the Oghara/Ajagbodudu dual carriage way, waiting to load petroleum products at Rain Oil Depot in the community.
Some shop owners, who spoke through their leader, Mr Raphel Ukanebevwe to Vanguard said that the tankers packed on the major road were causing accidents on the road.
“It is no longer an easy ride for us, shop owners on the busy Oghara Road to makes sales of our stocks as tankers have blocked the road.”
The residents accused some chiefs of collecting bribes from the tanker drivers, to allow them to block the road.
They called on the state government to intervene and stop the tanker drivers from the indiscriminate packing. They urged the management of Rain Oil Ltd to construct a parking space for the tankers waiting to load products from its depot.
