ADO EKITI — The Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt Caleb Olubolade, has explained why he decided to run for the governorship election in the state, assuring that he would revive the fortunes of the state for the better.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Taiwo Olatunji, said his move was not aimed at blocking the chances of other aspirants.
Olubolade slammed Governor Kayode Fayemi for allegedly committing the state  into over N20 billion debt  on projects that are not expected to generate revenue.
The minister, who is apparently reacting to agitation from People’s Democratic Party, PDP, aspirants in the South Senatorial District that it is their turn to produce the governor in the state, said the PDP is now in a disadvantaged  position, being in the opposition, saying the party must get itself right if it is committed and determined to take over from the present party in power.
“I am presenting myself for the race because I feel, with all sense of responsibility that  I am in the best  position, for obvious reasons, to win the election for the PDP,” he said.
