South East and South- South traditional leaders in Lagos have endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 presidential elections.

Chairman of the group, Chief Sylvan Ebigwe, told newsmen at a briefing that the group would work assiduously to ensure the President maximized the millions of votes available in Lagos during the election.

He said this would enable him continue the good works he had done, stressing that it would be a national economic and political suicide to change a winning team.

The group also advised the governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and the President to resolve whatever differences they had to allow peace to reign.

Urging Governor Amechi to heed the advice South West governors had given him, asking him to pay a visit to the President for reconciliation, the group urged those heating up the issue to desist from doing so.

It noted that the nation was on the blink and that it was the duty of every Nigeria to contribute his quota to make it a better, progressive and a happy nation.

The group said that in the past, development and infrastructure were completely neglected, but added quickly that this present administration had started to restore development and growth in the country.

Ebigwei said there had been a positive growth in the economy, while the stock market had shown some significant recovery.

It also pointed out that they were not happy with the deportation of fellow citizens by the officials of Lagos State government to Anambra State.

The group said: “Such action is inimical to the relative cordial relationship existing among all Nigerian citizens resident in Lagos.”

It appealed to Lagos State government to correct the mistake and compensate the aggrieved parties accordingly.
