The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, led its governorship aspirants in Anambra State to a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was just as four Anambra State governorship aspirants of the PDP, failed to scale the screening, yesterday.

LEADERSHIP gathered that those who could not pass the screening are Tony Nwoye, Sylvester Okonkwo, Ugochukwu Okeke and Damian Ahamaefula Onwuanyim.

The four men are entitled to file an appeal against their disqualification on or before Friday

Ahead of the Anambra governorship election, the national leadership of PDP had declared Ken Emeakayi as its recognised chairman of the party in the state, while INEC had maintained that Ejike Oguebego is the chairman.

Meanwhile, the INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega has warned that it will not tolerate multiple candidates campaigning under the PDP as witnessed in the last governorship election in Anambra because of factionalised leadership.

Confirming the meeting at the INEC headquarters, Chief Press Secretary to the national chairman of INEC, Mr. Kayode Idowu, said that the acting Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Chibudom Nwuche, made the presentation on behalf of the party and aspirants.

Idowu noted that Jega was not at the meeting, and said that no decision was taken.

He, however, said that the legal department had not been served a court order asking it to recognise Emeakayi as the state party chairman
