Nigeria Machine Tools Limited Restructures for Expansion

The Nigeria Machine Tools Limited (NMTL) has announced that the overall restructuring going on in the company was aimed at capacity expansion, strengthening operational excellence and positioning the firm to maximise the immense opportunities in West Africa.
 
A statement from the company at the weekend explained that the transformation, which is consistent with NMTL’s strategy of quality, excellence and service would see the company scale up its business activities in the sub region to meet growing demand and also expand its customer engagement platforms to ensure excellent service delivery always for all customers are part of the new direction for the company.
 
Following the restructuring, the Company’s Board of Directors recently approved two key appointments; Mr. Didi Ndiomu takes over from Brig. General S. L. Teidi (rtd.) as Chairman of the Board, while Norbert Chukwumah has been appointed the company’s new Managing Director.
 
Chukwumah, a 1988 Law Graduate of the University of Jos and an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School, is an accomplished manager with a proven track record of strategic business management and administration. Chukwumah will oversee and drive NMTL’s daily technical, financial and business operations. He was the company’s Deputy Managing Director before this new appointment.
 
NMTL was privatised in 2007 and is presently the leading integrated manufacturing company in sub-Saharan Africa with a modern production facility situated in Oshogbo, Osun State. The company produces a diverse range of internationally certified machine tools, industrial spares and fittings for oil and gas, power, transportation, defense, and iron and steel industries, in addition to providing unparalleled after-sales service to all its clients across the region.
 
 
NMTL has one of the best equipped manpower development facilities located in Oshogbo and it has the capacity to train students in all aspects of foundry technology, welding, electrical, plumbing, fittings, CAD&M, CNCM and several other specialised programmes. The company also manufactures and assembles the widely acclaimed 4 x 4 Special Utility Tractors and agricultural implements under its proprietary Bull trademark.
