The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a former chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sir Victor Umeh, Daily Post reports.

Umeh was said to have been picked up at his Enugu residence this afternoon, March 3, for allegedly sponsoring the recent activities of pro-Biafra groups, Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to his media aide, Stan Okeke, who confirmed the development to journalists, Umeh’s arrest follows petitions by former Governor Peter Obi, and Uzu Awka.

Okeke said as at 8.25pm today, operatives of the DSS were still on the road, transporting Umeh to Abuja.

Umeh is the party’s candidate for the postponed Anambra Central Senatorial District re-run election.
