Court allegedly orders PDP chieftain’s arrest

03022016C Tope AlukoA court has allegedly ordered the arrest of the former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Tope Aluko.

The claim was made by Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Governor Ayo Fayose, via Twitter today, February 3, 2016.

“Court issued Warrant of Arrest against TKO ALUKO for Perjury. Police ordered to arrest him,” Olayinka wrote.

Aluko caused controversy on Sunday, January 31, when he admitted during a television interview that he had participated in the rigging of the June 2014 elections in the state and lied to a court about it while under oath.

He also alleged that Fayose had received $37 million from former president, Goodluck Jonathan to rig the polls.
