A woman who disappeared in the woods of south-west Finland on Wednesday has been found alive and well on Sunday.

The berry collector was found a few kilometres from where she had gone missing in the Torronsuo national park in Tammela, Kanta-Häme.

Volunteers searching the area spotted her just after 1pm. She was concsious and able to talk.

“She asked for water first,” said Detective Chief Inspector Tomi Repo.

The search operation was particularly difficult because of the swamp-like terrain and thick undergrowth. The woman is being treated in hospital.
