Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen (NCP) has lamented the underlying negativity of the Finnish society, which, he believes, threatens to impede taking action. Katainen also slammed the recent debates for concentrating excessively on processes rather than objectives and the prevalent tendency to find flaws. During a party government meeting on Thursday, the premier listed the successes of his government and expressed his bafflement with the limited attention they have received. “At times, it feels like it is one of the country's best kept secrets. One only has himself to blame. The complexity of decision-making has overshadowed the decisions' content,” he said, dismissing suggestions that his irritation is due to the slipping support for ruling parties in recent polls.
