Southbound traffic into Helsinki on the Tuusula highway was cut off Friday afternoon following a series of collisions in afternoon snow flurries.

The pile-ups occurred about 7 kilometres south of Tuusula. A five-car collision clogged the Tuusula artery heading into Helsinki.

The pile-up temporarily closed the lane of traffic heading south into Helsinki while emergency officials cleared the road. No one was reported injured in the series of fender benders.

Officials say the chain collision was apparently caused by slippery roads following afternoon snow flurries and mild temperatures.
