The significance of New Yam festival among Igbos worldwide is creating great popularity about Igboland and Igbo people. In the recent time, it is becoming a world notable event ever since both the Igbos and non-Igbos round the globe stand with eager to embrace this yearly cultural event.

On 8th of October, 2011this very festival will be attracting to Finland people of different classes from different parts of the world especially Africa and Europe to honor the 2011 New Yam/ Igbo Day celebration, Finland chapter.
