Telecommunications company Sonera may be cutting 235 jobs under a new organizational set-up merging customer services units and making adjustments to the company's mobile communications technology division.

The reorganization of customer services may lead to the loss of 135 jobs. Sonera says it will be concentrating its mobile communications technology in fewer localities which may trim 100 employees from the payroll.

Sonera is currently engaged in talks with employee representatives on restructuring in its consumer business operations that may lead to 40 job cuts.

At the end of the year, the company announced the elimination of 80 jobs, after the completion of staff reduction consultations.
