Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has said marrying a second wife brought him blessings and also elevated his two wives, May and Judy.
Edochie on his Instagram page on Thursday likened himself to David in the Bible.
The actor also said many great men in the bible had more than one wife.
He said, “ God works in mysterious ways. Marrying a 2nd wife has brought me blessings and also elevated my two lovely wives.
“Sometimes it takes the things we see as disappointments to happen for elevation to come.
“I’m a man after God’s heart. I’m like King David in the bible.
“I wronged my wife May from the way I went about it, and I have apologized to her sincerely from the bottom of my heart, but in the eyes of God things are different. God blesses differently.
“Many great men in the bible had one wife, many great men in the same bible also had more than one wife.
“My wife May just signed her first endorsement deal. Something that never happened all these years. And this came from what many saw as a disappointment. Many more deals will still come to her cos she’s a wonderful person.
“So is my wife Judy. She has also been elevated. Now widely known, her career is bigger, with a whole lot going for her as well.
“I wronged my wife May from the way I went about it, and I have apologized to her sincerely from the bottom of my heart, but in the eyes of God, things are different. God blesses differently.

How my son ended up choosing the course to study in the university -Ikenga Ezenwegbu

0 0
Read Time:5 Minute, 4 Second

“Daddy, what course should I study in the university?” my son, about to enter his final year in the secondary school, asked me. “My son, you should study Money-Making!” I answered unequivocally. “What do you mean, Daddy? I doubt if there is a course in any university called Money-Making, but I know of Entrepreneurship,” my son said, wondering what had happened to a man he once touted as “the ever-dependable brain” of a dad. I could guess that the boy was confused, and I needed to give him a further explanation.

“My son, I mean to say that you are at liberty to choose any course you are at ease with, but you should also figure out how that course would help you to put food on your table and make enough money to shoulder your responsibilities. If you choose an Agricultural course, think about its applications to making money, like commercial farming or setting up Agro-allied industries. If you choose Medicine, think of how to own a medical facility that would provide top-notch services that would yield the kind of money you want. Do you understand?” I asked a son whose eyes had been ignited. In his eyes, I could see a riot of ideas. That was what I wanted to achieve. He needed to be fired up. He must be achievement conscious.

I told my boy that he might, by accident of history or destiny, veer off entirely from his area of study upon graduation into another field he did not study, and out of which he would make a living; that it often happened to many people. I said this because I gauged that the guy was about to remind me that I read Microbiology and ended up in banking. Children of these days could be that audacious. They say it without any fear of cane or reproach.
“My son, in your DNA, already is a money opportunity detector gene. Every Nnewi child born, truly through the phallus, of his father has that gene. The gene gives a person from Nnewi, Orlu, Abiriba, or Old Bende people in Abia State etc an exceptional ability to sense money from any endeavour from afar. However, my son, note that you do not have to make money. If that is the case, you better enter the seminary or monastery now, but I know that you love good things of life; therefore, you must fathom how to generate money to fund your needs and wants. Once you are out of school, I will withdraw my financial oxygen from you. You shall become your own man.
“Son, you need to make money for your use and to boost your confidence because “akụ na esi obi ike” meaning that a wealthy man is a confident one. You also need to make money to take care of your wife, children, mum, in-laws, and extended family.

“Listen to me, do not mind the effusive love your mum professes for me; it got sweeter when I started earning more money and giving her the comfort she craved for. I am afraid that the intensity of that love might decrease if I become poor, but she will deny it if you ask her. Verily, I say onto you my son, please believe me as your father, money is not love, but it is the salt in a love soup as it is the sugar in a love tea. Your wife will love more a successful you than a you in lack. You must also make allowance for me, your father, especially when I shall become weak and old. You now can see clearly that I am also an interested party? Of course, you need to make enough money to be able to earn relevance in the ụmụnna, our village and Nnewi assembly,” I painstakingly told my son with punctuated emphasis.
I also painted for my son the picture of hell more lurid than the Gehena painted in the Bible. I always ask him to be upright, fair and square in his quest to achieving his life’s goals; that both heaven and land of our ancestors are real and that only good souls enter there.

In this encounter and many others, I impressed on my son the need to always be alert in his thoughts and in awareness and that he must be financially responsible. He also knows that he will marry early. That, too, helps a young man to focus. I told him that all the billionaires of reckon in Nnewi with no exception married before the age of 27.
That is how we raise boys into men in Nnewi.

However, if an Nnewi son tries his best and does not create the level of wealth he craves for, “enu na ana” or “the land and the heavens” would bear him witness that he put in the best. When the outcome does not justify the inputs or when the vicissitude of life moderates the outcomes, then the victim is said to be “omebelu ma Chi ekwena”, meaning “one who did his best to succeed but it was not meant to be.” We, too, have many of such cases in Nnewi. It is a known practice till date that bachelors and married men don’t get same share of meat or drinks. Men are separated into Okokpolo (single) and Mbiuno (married) in Nnewi.

As I watched my 16-year-old son yesterday file out with his Mechanical Engineering classmates for matriculation, I prayed that God helps him achieve his desire to make a living out of cars, equipment and tools manufacturing. What Innoson is doing at Nnewi must have influenced his choice of course. I only hope he steadies his gaze and not end up becoming a banker like his father and mother, who studied Microbiology and Food Science & Technology respectively. I have just prayed and wish as a parent but the future of our children is like a pencil in the hands of God. I have done my bit.

Excerpts from the letter:
‘‘I was pleased to see how you were very professional and efficient in handling the sensitive political position of Chairman, Progressives Governors Forum.

Tinubu Unveils bogus Agenda – Tinubu’s roadmap nigerian greatness

0 0
Read Time:4 Minute, 25 Second

Frontline Presidential aspirant and National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has shared his manifesto for the transformation of Nigeria if elected president of the country.
The APC presidential aspirant, according to a press statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Director of Media and Communication, said his team will lead Nigeria to a new era of economic prosperity, peace, security and political stability. Tinubu, the Governor of Lagos State between 1999-2007, presented his vision within five thematic areas.

  • He promised to improve security by decentralizing the policing of the country and creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs simultaneously.
  • He promised to transform Nigeria into an enviable country and one where there will be justice, peace and prosperity for all, with a “robust economy”.

Titled ‘My Vision for Nigeria’, Tinubu promised in the document, “a nation transformed into greatness, the pride of Africa, a role model for all black people worldwide, and respected among all other countries.

  • “A vibrant and thriving democracy and a prosperous nation with a fast-growing industrial base, capable of producing the most basic needs of the people and exporting to other countries of the world.
  • “A country with a robust economy, where prosperity is broadly shared by all irrespective of class, region, and religion.
  • “A nation where its people enjoy all the basic needs, including a safe and secure environment, abundant food, affordable shelter, health care, and quality primary education for all.
  • “A nation founded on justice, peace, and prosperity for all.”

On the economy, Tinubu promised to build an economy that will make the nation’s Gross Development Product grow quicker annually for the next four years while also providing jobs for millions of youths in the country.
He also promised to launch a new National Industrial Policy focused on special intervention to reinvigorate specific strategic industries.

  • “I will focus on stimulating jobs, which will be my top priority as President. I will get Nigeria to work by launching a major public works program, a significant and heavy investment in infrastructure, and value-adding manufacturing and agriculture.
  • “My administration will build an efficient, fast-growing, and well-diversified emerging economy with a real GDP growth averaging 12% annually for the next four years, translating into millions of new jobs during this period,” he said.
  • Tinubu also promised to create six new Regional Economic Development Agencies, which will establish subregional industrial hubs to exploit each zone’s competitive advantage and optimize their potential for industrial growth.
  • The presidential aspirant also promised to formulate a new National Policy on Agriculture to boost food production.
  • He promised to promote the establishment of new commodity exchange boards, while also strengthening the one in Lagos in order to guarantee minimum pricing for agricultural products such as cotton, cocoa, rice, soya beans, corn, palm kernel, and groundnuts.

  • On infrastructure, Tinubu promised to “Build A New Nigeria (BANN)” by developing a National Infrastructure Plan, which will cover strategic roads, bridges, rail, water, power, seaports, and airports spanning the length and breadth of the country.
  • He said his administration will combine government funding, borrowing, public-private partnership, private sector financing and concession to initiate a medium and long-term financial model for the BANN initiative.
  • Tinubu further stated that his administration will target an electricity distribution goal of 15,000 megawatts across the country and ensure a sustainable 24/7 supply.

  • “On Electricity, I will embark on a renewed action-oriented focus and take immediate and urgent action on resolving existing challenges of power generation plants, gas purchasing, pricing, transmission, and distribution.
  • My administration’s critical goal is to have 15,000 megawatts distributable to all categories of consumers nationwide to ensure 24/7 sustainable supply within the next four years,” he added.

  • In the oil and gas sector, Tinubu said there will be no need for a subsidy because the market will be open and transparent.
  • “Supply will come from local refineries, and the forces of demand and supply will determine the price of petroleum products”.
  • My administration will establish a National Strategic Reserve for Petroleum Products to stabilize supply during unexpected shortages or surplus periods. This will eliminate any form of product shortages and prevent wild swings in prices.
  • Tinubu also spoke about his administration’s promise in the area of education, promising to increase the spending on education to 25 per cent of the nation’s budget.
  • He promised to continue the free school feeding programme of the APC, feeding “millions of primary school children across the country”.

  • In tertiary education, Tinubu said his administration eradicates strikes by tertiary institution workers by encouraging the tertiary institutions to source funds through grants and corporate sponsorships, with all the institutions granted financial autonomy.
  • Just like education, Tinubu also promised to increase the funding for health care in the annual budget to 10 per cent. According to him, the National Health Insurance Scheme will be relaunched to grant health insurance cover to most Nigerians.

Tinubu Unveils bogus Agenda

a) 25% annual budget for education
b) 10% annual budget for health
c) Decentralization of police
d) Introduction of commodity exchange
e) Total deregulation of the oil market and building of national storage to sustain supply
f) Stimulation of production and manufacturing for export
g) Target of 15,000MW generation and distribution of electricity

Gupta brothers, the notorious indian-south african businessmen, have been arrested in dubai.

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 5 Second

Rajesh and Atul Gupta moved to South Africa from India to run their small business in 1993.

They progressed from selling shoes from their car to running a multibillion-dollar conglomerate spanning mining, computer, airlines, energy, and media.

They befriended the ANC leadership shortly after apartheid ended by positioning themselves as alternatives to White people.

As a result, under Jacob Zuma, they were awarded key lucrative contracts ranging from electricity to railways, as well as numerous state contracts that they inflate and give to government officials.

To give you an insight into how powerful they were. During Jacob Zuma’s administration, they were the only private citizens that use the Presidential wing of the airport. Well after Jacob Zuma left, some emails leaked showing that the brothers might have helped Jacob Zuma and other top government officials to launder about $3.8 billion.

They ran away to Dubai in 2018 where they have been enjoying their loot until now, the UAE government agreed to arrest them and send them back to South Africa for trial. This is quite surprising because Dubai is a haven for financial criminals running away from their home countries. This might be a shift in UAE’s foreign policy. Well, the rise of the Gupta brothers has been as incredible as their fall. See less

Pitt claims Jolie intended ‘harm’ by selling her vineyard stake to a Russian oligarch.

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

Brad Pitt has accused his ex-wife Angelina Jolie of attempting to “harm” him by selling her half stake in their French vineyard to a Russian oligarch with “poisonous associations and intentions.”

The allegations, made in new court filings as part of Pitt’s lawsuit against Jolie over the sale of Chateau Miraval, are the latest salvo in the former Hollywood power couple’s bitter legal battle, which began in 2016.

Pitt sued in February, saying the couple had agreed never to sell their interests without the other’s consent, and accusing Jolie of seeking “unearned” profits.

In an amended complaint seen by AFP, Pitt’s lawyers argue “Jolie sought to inflict harm on Pitt” with the sale, and describe Shefler as “a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions.”

The filing received by a Los Angeles court last Friday alleges Shefler “maintains personal and professional relationships with individuals in Vladimir Putin’s inner circle.”

Shefler has long been an outspoken critic of Putin, and his Stoli Group drinks conglomerate is based in Latvia.

In March, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Shelfer issued a statement saying he has been “exiled from Russia since 2002 due to my opposition to Putin,” and rebranded his company in “solidarity with Ukraine.”

But Pitt’s latest filing says: “Despite Shefler’s desperate attempt to disassociate himself from the Putin regime, the Stoli brand is now a massive international liability.”

It adds: “Stoli vodka is synonymous with Russia, as the countless images of consumers pouring Stoli vodka down the drain make clear.”

“Since Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Miraval’s insurer has sought assurances that Shefler is not aligned with Putin and that affiliation with Stoli would not create commercial risk,” the filing says.

The complaint also lists Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman within Shefler’s alleged “network of ill-reputed professional associates” which “threatens lasting harm to Miraval’s reputation.”

After a bike accident kills one, enraged youths set fire to motorcycles in Lagos.

Read Time:57 Second

On Thursday, youths in Isolo’s Jakande Estate set fire to over 20 commercial motorcycles known as okada after a fatal accident killed one person.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred when a rider on a one-way street reportedly collided with a pedestrian, who died instantly.
In retaliation, local youths hijacked motorcycles and set them on fire.

In response to the incident, Lagos State Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin told Channels Television that the Divisional Police Officer in the area, Folorunsho Gabriel, responded immediately, rescuing the suspect from the mob attack and evacuating the corpse.

“The Police arrived at the scene on time and rescued the motorcycle rider from lynching. The Police immediately took the rider to the hospital for treatment and evacuated the pedestrian. Before the Police arrived back at the scene, a mob was already burning the motorcycles left behind by the fleeing riders,” he added.

“The Lagos State Police Command condemns jungle justice in very strong terms. Anyone found engaging in such would be dealt with in accordance with the law.”

Normalcy has returned to the area as security operatives are on the ground to forestall further mob action.

ISWAP is to blame for the Owo church attack, according to the National Security Council.

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 26 Second

The National Security Council has blamed the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) for the June 5 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, which killed 38 people.

Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, stated this on Thursday after briefing State House Correspondents following the National Security Council meeting in Abuja.

He revealed that security forces, particularly the police, have been ordered to apprehend the perpetrators. The former governor stated that there is no ethnic-religious link to the attack and that the group’s activity has nothing to do with religion.

According to him, the council is also concerned about blasphemy-related killings and has directed security agencies to pursue perpetrators of recent incidents in Sokoto State and Abuja recently.

Similarly, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba equally noted the imprints of the perpetrators of the Owo killings have been identified and although no arrests have been made, security agencies are now zeroing in on them.

The meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, was held less than a week after scores of persons were killed in the attack and several others wounded.

In a recent meeting, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State said 40 persons died in the incident while 26 survivors have been discharged from hospitals in the area.

“The figure I have now shows that 127 persons were involved and that the number of death now is 40. On admission receiving treatment, we have 61. Twenty-six have been discharged,” he said on Wednesday when he hosted Catholic Bishops from the South-West led by Most Reverend Leke Abegunrin.

“Those are the figures we have now from the Commissioner for Health. So, the government is not hiding anything.”
