FIFA U-20 World Cup: Serbia beat Brazil to win for first time

Read Time:50 Second

Nemanja Maksimovic scored a dramatic extra-time winner as Serbia beat Brazil 2-1 to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the first time.

Maksimovic had already made his mark on the game by crossing for Stanisa Mandic to sweep home Serbia's opener in the 70th minute in Auckland.

However, Brazil forced additional time three minutes later when substitute Andreas Pereira scored a fine solo goal, working his way into the penalty area from the left before placing his shot into the far corner.

Brazil created the better openings in the first period of extra-time, but Serbia started to carve out chances of their own in the second half and it was Maksimovic who put his name in the history books, keeping his cool when sent clear on goal.

Serbia's victory in New Zealand is their first as an independent nation, with the former Yugoslavia having won the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1987.

I Get over 100 Suitors Daily – Popular Hairy Lady, Queen Okafor

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 17 Second

Queen Okafor is a native of Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State. Seeing her for the first time will definitely evoke mixed feelings about her gender in you. This is mainly because of the hairs which adorn her breasts, chest, face and other parts of her body. A special feature that also stands her out in public and wherever she goes.

In a new interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, the self acclaimed Nigeria's Queen of hairs said she gets no fewer than 100 suitors daily on the average, depending on the place she visits. Queen said:
“I get not less than 100 suitors and admirers everyday depending on the occasion. Married and single men, boys, girls, lesbians and gay men are attracted to me. But I can’t accept every person that approaches me because people are very deceptive.

Some men will tell me that they are not married, whereas they are married with children at home. I am not married, but I intend to get married one day because that is the prayer of every woman, but definitely not to a married man. If God answers my prayers, I will be happy to be married to a businessman that will love me and not be one that will beat me.”

Okafor added that she had not seen a genuine heartthrob yet as everybody seems to be interested only in her “flesh”. She also spoke about her failed love encounters:

“No man has ever dumped or disappointed me, I can tell you that. I fell in love with one man immediately after my secondary school. He was fond of beating me because he was very temperamental and that informed my decision to quit the relationship.

I fell in love with another man, but I detest men that don’t tell the truth, I was in love with him but because he was a womaniser, I decided to dump him. On several occasions, he tried to seduce and sleep with my younger sister. My sister told me about this. She said whenever she was asleep, he would sneak into her bedroom and attempt to sleep with her.”

However, Queen noted that the hairs on her body are hereditary.
“It is a family thing, especially from my father’s side. So, if I get married, I won’t be surprised to see any, if not all of my children, having hairs all over their bodies,” she said.

Although she is into modelling and had featured in many advertisements, Okafor intended to go into acting to fulfill her dreams.

APC: ‘We’ll be glad if Ekweremadu resigns,’ Chairman says

Read Time:53 Second

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Party (APC), has said that the party would be very glad if Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu were to resign his position.

Ekweremadu emerged Deputy Senate President after Senate President, Bukola Saraki defied the APC to contest and garnered most of his votes from Senator-members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oyegun made the comments while speaking with Channels television on ‘Roadmap 2015′.

“If he wants to resign, we would be very very glad, but for now, as at today, our mission is to get the senate settled to get them at work,” Oyegun said.

“We are in charge; we are in control. There’s no question about that. The aspect of an Ekweremadu may be an aggravation, but we have to continue to work until things resolve themselves and things would resolve themselves,” he added.

Oyegun also said, via a statement issued on Friday, June 19, 2015, that the APC was working hard to resolve the crisis in the party.

NIGERIA: President to reduce ministries from 42 to 19, merge EFCC with ICPC

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly set to reduce the number of ministries in Nigeria to 19 from the current number of 42.

This is in line with recommendations made to Buhari by the Ahmed Joda-led transition committee formed by him.

The President will also reportedly merge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) in a bid to ensure a more effective fight against corruption.

The number of Federal Government departments and agencies will also be reduced, Vanguard reports citing a Presidency source.

“But the point being made is that relevant MDAs that will exist under the present administration must be those backed by laws. What that means is that the era of doing things the wrong way to please certain persons in positions of power is over,” the source said.

According to the source, some ministries will also be merged during Buhari’s administration.

The Ministry of Aviation will reportedly be merged with Inland Waterways and associated agencies while the Ministry of Agriculture will be merged with that of Water Resources.

Earlier reports had it that Buhari had been advised by the transition committee to appoint 19 ministers and 17 ministers of state in order to achieve the dual aims of cutting cost and complying with the constitutional requirement of 36 ministers.
