A 26-year-old man has been charged for attempted murder after he strangled his girlfriend because she complained about his bed wetting.
A 26-year-old North Wales man, Phillip Davies, has been arrested and charged to court for strangling his 25-year-old girlfriend, Keelie Challoner, because she complained of his bed-wetting habit, the Wales News Service reports.
According to the police, Davies had spent the night in Challoner's house when he urinated on the bed and she woke up and noticed what he had done, she got angry with him and told him to throw the wet mattress out of the house.
Embarrassed and shamed by his woman's reaction, Davies throttled her and squeezed his hands tightly around her throat which made Challoner think she would die.
Sentencing, district Judge Gwyn Jones told Davies:
"You took issue with the fact that she understandably did not wish to have a soiled bed in her house.
You became offensive towards her then violent. She did not know whether she was going to live or die."
Davies pleaded guilty to assaulting Miss Challoner, while the court heard from his defense that he was at ‘rock bottom’ at the time of the incident.
After he was convicted of the crime, Davies was sentenced to six months behind the bars.

A judge in California, USA, M. Marc Kelly, is in the center of the storm as he has been getting verbal attacks from all and sundry for putting the blame on a 3-year-old girl who was raped by a 20-year-old man, Kevin Jonas Jojano, on the toddler for walking into the suspects' home.
According to Judge Kelly, Rojano of Orange County, California, did not intend to hurt the girl when he raped her.
Apart from the remark which has been seen as the dumbest thing any judge could ever make in a rape case, Kelly sentenced Rojano to a mere 10 years in prison as against the mandatory sentence which requires 25-year to life in prison.
Instead, Rojano was found guilty of sodomizing the 3-year-old girl in his garage.
According to the prosectors in the case, Rojano was playing video games in the garage of his home in Santa Ana, when the victim walked in. Rojano said that he became sexually aroused by the child and he sexually assault her.
During the attack, the girl's mother was looking for the child. Rojano placed his hand on the child’s mouth so that she does not respond to her mother.
The child later complained of pain, and her mother called police when she found injuries consistent with sexual assault.
Judge Kelly said:
"Mr. Rojano did not seek out or stalk the victim. He was playing video games and the girl wandered into the garage.
He inexplicably became sexually aroused, but did not appear to consciously intend to harm the victim when he sexually assaulted her."

The elections which are expected to be won by its war-crimes-indicted president, Omar al-Bashir, held after the main opposition called for a boycott.
Voting has held in Sudan today amidst calls for a boycott by the opposition.
The elections which are expected to be won by its war-crimes-indicted president, Omar al-Bashir, held after the main opposition called for a boycott.
BBC reports that small queues formed at polling stations, with voters saying the elections guaranteed stability.
However, the opposition and Western powers said the polls lacked credibility because of political repression.
71-year-old president, al-Bashir, who has been in power since 1989, has been charged by the International Criminal Court (ICC) with genocide over the Darfur conflict.
He has however denied the charges.
According to BBC's James Copnall's reports from Khartoum, there was a large crowd where Bashir was voting, but most of them were journalists and security personnel.
Meanwhile, Amjad Farid, spokesman for the Sudan Change Now protest group, said his wife Sandra Farouk Kodouda was detained on the eve of the polls as she went to address an anti-election rally.
The authorities, however, have not confirmed her arrest.
Also, the UK, US and Norway have said in a statement that "an environment conducive to participatory and credible elections does not exist" in Sudan.

The schoolgirls abducted from Chibok community by Boko Haram insurgents were reportedly seen alive, according to a report by BBC.
More than 50 of the girls abducted by militant Islamists in Nigeria last year were seen alive three weeks ago, a woman has told the BBC. She saw the girls in the north-eastern Gwoza town before the Boko Haram militants were driven out of there by regional forces.
Boko Haram kidnapped 276 girls from their school in the remote town of Chibok, in Borno state, northeastern Nigeria, on the evening of April 14 last year.
Fifty-seven managed to escape soon afterwards but the remainder have not been seen since an appearance in a Boko Haram video in May last year.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has claimed they have all converted to Islam and been “married off”.

The new "no jab, no pay" policy however allows for exemption for medical or religious reasons. Parents can also choose to opt out by stating they are "conscientious objectors".
If you're in Australia and haven't vaccinated your child, then you could be on the wrong side of the law as the Australian government has introduced a new policy which would see parents lose as much as $11,000 of welfare benefits a year for refusing to vaccinate their children.
In a joint statement with Social Services Minister, Scott Morrison, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said:
"The choice made by families not to immunize their children is not supported by public policy or medical research nor should such action be supported by taxpayers in the form of child care payments"
The new "no jab, no pay" policy however allows for exemption for medical or religious reasons. Parents can also choose to opt out by stating they are "conscientious objectors" and still receive taxpayer funded child care benefits.
Not withstanding, Abbot said existing exemptions on medical or religious grounds will continue, but guidelines on religious exemptions will be tightened.
According to him, it would require the formal position of that religious body being advised to the government and approved by the government. While Morrison added that no mainstream religious organizations had made any formal objection to immunizations.
An estimated over 39,000 children under the age of 7 have not been vaccinated because of their parents' objections.
This is even as the government reports that the number of children in Australia who have not received immunization against measles and other diseases has almost doubled in the past decade.
Although the theory has been widely discredited, some parents believe the shots cause autism.

60-year-old Mrs Omolara Irurhe who had been looking for a child for over 30 years gave birth to a baby girl this past Monday June 16th through the Invitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment at a Specialist Hospital in Lagos.
'The Nation' reports that Mrs Irurhe, who has been married for 31 years, started the IVF treatment in 2010 and said her faith in God and her believe in modern medicine helped her go through the process, after many years of childlessness in marriage. She said her husband, Mr Adekunle Irurhe’s Catholic belief of one man one wife made him not to marry another woman and stood by her through all the years.
“I believe we should not limit God and what the doctors can do in this modern age. I believe this is the appointed time. I was very hopeful throughout the years I was childless and I remained focused on God. We went to many hospitals but we didn’t give up,” she said
An elated Mr Adekunle Irurhe said though there were pressures to get another wife, he was determined to stay with his wife alone as that was the practice of his own parents. He said his wife’s belief in the In vitro fertilization method made him support her.
“I supported her throughout because my wife was dogged and she believed in herself. When I saw her faith, I had no choice but to go with her. She kept telling me she would have her child. I wasn’t thinking of another wife. I came from a monogamous family and I decided she is all I will have. The family was understanding too and we fought together to get this baby”.
