As we speak, the happy couple are on a two weeks vacation in Minnesota.

Chinedu Epeagba, a Nollywood Location Manager based in Asaba is dead. Chinedu who is popularly known as Dabebe was first rumoured to have died mysteriously. According to popular gossip which made rounds,  they said Dabebe’s death was caused by village ‘remotely control’.

The story asserted that his kinsmen from Mbaise; his home town did not want him to succeed in life…so they killed him using diabolical means.

Thankfully, Nollywood comic actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu has thrown more light into Dabebe’s cause of death. Ugezu said: “Our preliminary investigation, backed with scientific presentations from the last doctor that treated him in Onitsha, shows that Dabebe died from complications triggered by the made in China SLIMMING TEA, which he started drinking in July.

This tea, medicine or whatever, gradually destroyed all his internal organs and by the time he became too weak and got rushed to the hospital, his body couldn’t respond to treatment; organs were ruined already. The sad news is that Dabebe, that promising young man, is dead.”

OMGosh!!! And I’m such a big fan of Chinese slimming tea! This is so sad!

The ever resolute Nollywood actress, Nkiru Syvalnus has finally broken the long observed silence after she gave out her words on the rumour peddled by rumour-mongers over her alleged romance with the Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha. Describing the long meted rumour on her as being horrendous and handiwork of disgruntled politicians, the fair-skinned actress in an exclusive interview (not codewit.com) stated below:

It is unfortunate that people can say such false stories. I’ve been working for this man even before he decided to contest for the gubernatorial election. During the elections in Imo State I was all over the State. I attended every major campaign event for His Excellency, Governor Okorocha. I was there when he declared his interest to aspire for the office of governor in Imo state. Then, people did not talk about my alleged relationship with him.

They saw me on T.V they heard me on the Radio, they saw me take part in the Street Rallies, they saw me at the INEC office in Owerri, yet nobody talked about me being in a relationship with him. Now that God has made it possible for him to become a governor the rumour mongers have started talking. All of a sudden, they accuse me of sleeping with a man I look up to as my mentor and father simply because he appointed me as one of his advisers. Some people in our society find it very hard to believe that a lady can ever get anything on merit, especially in the Nigerian context.

 Once a lady gets to a top position in government or any other sector in the society and it happens to come from a man, it is often assumed that she is romantically linked to the man. This mindset of our people is not good at all and it needs to be addressed. I believe that a lot of women out there have got what it takes to arrive at the top without sleeping around with men. But I am not discouraged because I know that it is the hand-work of detractors and disgruntled politicians.

NOLLYWOOD screen diva, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, added another year in the week, and chose a special way to mark the day. Instead of throwing a shindig and popping champagne with friends, the actress decided to celebrate it by sparing a thought for the less-privileged children in the society.

In a message tagged “A Message From My Heart”, Mercy poured out her heart, saying: ”Today, I thought of many things I would love to have as birthday gifts, and the many dreams I am still pursuing. In all of this, I’m not losing sight of the fact, that if not for God, I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food, and some prostituting to make ends meet. If we know the circumstances that forced some of these people into the street, we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of people who believed in me from the word go.

“Recently, I was at the Boys Reform Home, Oregun, Lagos, and the discussion I had with the principal, Mr. Kotun, and much later, with the Special Adviser in charge of all remand homes in Lagos, set me thinking about the boys and girls on the street. They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no; because I won’t be where I am today if I ended up on the street. For this reason, Mercy Johnson Foundation will be doing a lot to get kids off the street. We are not asking people for money or donation. I will do all I can with the resources God has given me, and with the support of my husband to help get these kids off the street, and set them on the path where they can begin to pursue their dreams…”

HIP hop artiste Orezi returned from South Africa last week where he went on a nationwide tour. The artiste also took the opportunity to shoot the video of his song, Rihanna.

On his return, the singer narrated his experience, especially how he was able to get a Rihanna look-alike from Mauritius after a rigorous effort to get the American singing star did not work out due to her busy schedule.

“We had a wonderful time in South Africa. It was truly a rewarding experience and a most educative one for me as a very young artiste. At the end, we came with something that the world will talk about for a long time, the video for the all hit song, Rihanna,” Orezi said.

When all efforts to get the American super diva Rihanna to feature in the multi-million naira video did not work out, he explained that his management team as well as his label, Sprisal Records, went online to shop for a Rihanna look-alike. The search finally paid off when a Rihanna sent in her entry from Mauritius. “This young, beautiful ‘Rihanna’ named Kim was chosen above over 200 pictures.”

Orezi also took time out to clear the air on the issue of which record label he is signed on: “I am signed on to Sprisal Records and the deal is good. I have a boss that is like an elder brother who listens,” he added.
