The distinguished veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has spoken about the quality of the Nigerian movie business.
Speaking to the Nigeria Movie Network, Orji said that stakeholders and business insiders are working hard to improve the quality of Nollywood films.
He said that while movie producers are working to improve the technical quality of films, they are also constantly improving the quality of performance art and music.
“We are already paying more attention but these things take some time. It’s not an overnight thing; it takes a while to build up; and don’t forget we all have our strong points; South Africa has its strong points.
“When you come to media, when you come to the technical aspect of motion picture production, South Africa is there. When you come to performance art, Nigeria is there. So every country has its strong points; when we see works coming from other African countries that are better than ours, we strive to gravitate towards that level.
“And it’s already happening not only in the motion picture industry, it’s also happening in the music industry. So it’s not going to be an overnight thing, but we are definitely working towards it.’’
Orji is not just a man who knows his business, he’s also a a man of god!
Only three months ago, the former Actors Guild president revealed that he was ordained as a pastor back in 2012.
“I didn’t set out to be an ordained reverend. My bishop probably got inspired by God to ordain me. I worship with Power Line Bible Church under Bishop Lawrence Osagie, and he ordained me in 2012.”
