In other to make this exciting, incentives like winning airtime, has been put in place to motivate the students to keep trying the questions week after week. The first 2,500 people to get the highest score will be rewarded with something.
Speaking at a media breifing, Head of Retail Banking, Diamond Bank, Jude Anele stated that the success rate of school children, although poor, remained important.
“It has been found that the success rate is very poor in national and regional examinations like WAEC, NECO, GCE. We think this is a perfect way to add value to the youth,” he said.
Founder of Gidimobile, Adetunji Adegbesan said said the initiative is about addressing a national challenge that nobody has given much thought to. “There are findings that from year 2009 to 2013, failure rate rose from 25 per cent to 30 per cent. The aim of the national prep challenge is to tackle what we believe is one of the things that may be causing this failures and the inability to get access to materials to prepare for examinations adequately,” he said.
Users of the app would have access to about 28, 950 prep questions across 15 different subjects covering materials from JAMB, WAEC and the likes.
