ZonicMe Launches, Portals

“ZonicMe is a content innovator, focused on building and delivering online apps and content that increase productivity, promote well-being, enhance collaboration, entertain and deliver access to useful information, from any connected device.” With these words, Content Manager, ZonicMe, Mariam Ali-Ameh, in a chat with THISDAY, introduces the company that has already launched two portals into the market.
The first is the   online   directory,   which   was  built to take advantage of the increasing use of mobile and other connected devices to search for quality businesses in Nigeria. 
According to Ali-Ameh “we noticed that a lot of quality businesses are emerging across all sectors, and that users are now performing searches to identify quality businesses that can provide products or services that are looking for.
Using a directory is powerful as users are often  potential purchasers, as  opposed  to someone whose interest is being sought through an advertisement. However, it  is common  on many directories to find quality businesses sandwiched amongst all types and a lot of unverified  and inaccurate information too. This wastes the time and money of people searching for a business.
This is the gap aims to fill by focusing only on the collation of quality businesses in one portal, and presenting them in high quality search results. Results feature contact information, company profile, pictures, map and direction finder, Job vacancy posting ability, information share features, and the flexibility to listing under multiple categories for businesses with many facets.
‘This focus on only the best of Nigerian businesses, no matter how big or small is the unique selling point of the platform’, according to Ali-Ameh.
She further stated that ZonicMe “feels compelled to push the notion of quality, as that very notion is critical to Nigeria’s development in every respect.”
The second portal is the MyHotLook fashion / creative talent portal; which is a window for the world to see the best of African creativity, from emerging and established fashion designers, make-up artistes, models and photographers.
Users from any connected device can view thousands of vibrant designs neatly arranged into various relevant categories like casual, traditional, bridal etc. or by designer names and optimised for their device type. Looks contain the contact details of the designer and the ability to share the look with friends and across social media.
There is an optional visual tips notification service launching in February that will allow subscribers receive visual fashion tips based on looks from a select pool of designers. This will increase visibility  and  hopefully business opportunity for the designers and also on provide fashion conscious users with styling tips they can use in their everyday lives.
According to her, it is all about empowerment.  â€œWe want to increase patronage of African brands, and the online portal complements the relentless efforts made by organizers of fashion shows at home and abroad, and of course the amazing dedication of the creative talents themselves. ”
Empowerment is a key issue for ZonicMe.   By  introducing  business partner schemes for both lines, employed and unemployed Nigerians can be part to the value chain, by bringing the benefits to businesses and earning a commission on accruing fees. Creating this value chain the company says,  was key to the business model the company has adopted.
With a 2014 pipeline of what is described as  â€˜engaging and game-changing content’, ZonicMe is certainly aiming to be a market leader in the fast-evolving content space.
