Big brother Amplified: Massive homecoming party for Zeus

Botswana’s Big Brother Amplified representative, Zeus, (real name Game Bantsi) was welcomed back home with a party at the Cresta President Hotel in Gaborone on Friday night.

He was the last Botswana competitor in the Big Brother House after his compatriot, Miss P (Peo Sebotho) was eliminated a week before him.

On Friday, his strictly by invite A-list party was attended by almost everyone in the local entertainment industry, from radio and TV personalities, musicians and Miss World 1st princess Emma Wareus.  The party was marred by failure by most revellers to adhere to the dress code and the bouncers had to deny them entry.  Sneakers and caps were strictly out of bounds at the party where revellers were spoilt for choice with two separate dance floors and DJs dishing out music into the wee hours of Saturday.

DJs Robbie Rob, Shimrock, Choto and the veteran Easy B had the party mongers eating out of the palms of their hands with decent mixes of house, Rn’B, hip hop and the increasingly popular electro-dance pop. Zeus did some catching up with friends and fans with his girlfriend, Sesame Mosweu keeping a close eye on him.  In the Big Brother House, the party boy gained a reputation for resisting seduction from female housemates often telling them he has a girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Zeus said upon his arrival on Thursday that he used his time in the house very well and he does not regret any moment in the programme. He said he entered the house with an ambition to grow his brand as a rapper and this has been achieved.  He said he does not care much about losing out on the prize money as it was never his primary motivation going into the house.

The Imagination hit maker said he hopes the programme has promoted his music in Africa.  There is already talk of a collaborative mix-tape with former housemate Lomwe, from Malawi.

He tips South African Luclay, Nigerian Karen and Lomwe as strong candidates to walk away with the top prize in the show.  He said Karen’s main strength is that she relates very well emotionally with the audience while Luclay is a strong character just like Lomwe.

Zeus stated that Lomwe has gone through a lot in the house and the Malawian has a big heart to still be playing the game.  Zeus laughed off attempts by Karen to seduce him saying even if he did not have a girlfriend, he would not have done anything with her because she was not his ‘type’ of girl.

Meanwhile, the second edition of the party continued at the Cresta Thapama Hotel in Francistown on Saturday.  The eviction parties were organised by Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) through their new brand, Core Cider, as well as Multichoice Botswana and Cresta.
