(Harare)Zimbabwe was swung into pride at the weekend as the country’s representative Wendall scooped first prize in the just ended Big Brother Africa AMPLIFIED.

Wendall, 23, popularly known as “Nibbles”, won the grand prize together with Nigeria’s Karen to break the five-year jinx.

The man in dark shades was seen at the end walking up to the stage with hand in hand with Karen.

Towards the end of the live satellite TV contest, Wendall narrowly survived as the fifth, fourth and third housemates were eliminated.

Then just Zimbos were left holding onto their breath, he and Karen were soon called up, and came strolling together as the announcement was made that they had both won, but each with the full prize and their home countries went into mighty celebration.

The above photo was also soon flashed around social networking website Facebook with some complaining that the photo’s quality was too pixellated to depict these winning champs.

Youth Minister Saviour Kasukuwere applauded Wendall for hoisting the Zimbabwean flag high:

“We would like to congratulate Wendall, on behalf of Government and the youths in Zimbabwe, for his successful participation and victory in BBA House.
“Wendall performed exceptionally well and hoisted our flag high.

“We are proud of his achievement. We would like to call upon the nation to rally behind Wendall and expect a huge turnout at the Harare International Airport when he comes back.”

Kasukuwere also hailed Vimbai Mutinhiri another participant who only lost the show and was evicted during the final rounds.

Affectionately known as the “virgin” in House, Wendal’s win last night was seen to pacify Zimbabweans who felt Munyaradzi “The Diamond Boy” was unjustly robbed of the big prize at the last minute in last year’s edition. (ZimEye)
