The Football Association of Zambia and the winner of last year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament returned the Cup to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Wednesday and vowed to defend the trophy in South Africa
This was disclosed by George Kasengele the General Secretary of Zambia Football Federation.
His words; “it is difficult for us but we have no other choice than to return the trophy and we hope to take it back to Zambia for two more years”.
Coach Herve Renard also confirmed that he and his players will work towards returning the cup to Zambia this year.
“We are in South Africa and we are here to do everything possible to win the AFCON trophy again. Last year was amazing for us and I know that we can do it again,” Renard said.
