Felix Aboagye is convinced the Elephants may just exit in the first round of the competition which will begin this Saturday.
Ivory Coast has been described as favorites for the tournament given its attacking repertoire and quality of players it has.
Despite assembling one of the best players, Ivory Coast is yet to make it count in previous tournaments and is hoping to break the jinx in the 2013 edition.
But Speaking on Joy FM and MultiTV Afcon diaries on Monday, Felix Aboagye noted the elephants are far from replicating the 1992 feat which saw them winning the competition by beating Ghana in an 11-10 penalty thriller.
Citing a warm-up game the Elephants played earlier in the day, Aboagye said the players looked sluggish and didn’t look like a team ready to combat.
Ivory Coast is in Group D together with Tunisia, Togo, and Algeria.
Felix Aboagye was hopeful however that Ghana could pull a surprise in the competition.
Ghana opens her campaign with DR Congo on Sunday before playing Mali and Niger later on in the Group B encounters.
