Judge Jeremy Pickering sentenced Xolile Tose (33) of Motherwell to life in prison in the Port Elizabeth High Court, South Africa yesterday. The judge also denied leave for appeal to the man who kidnapped a six-year-old girl, raped her and sodomised her for 15 hours in 2011.
The child’s rape injuries were so bad that she must use a colostomy bag.
But the court was told that a group of Port Elizabeth doctors has offered to operate on the child and hopefully she won’t have to use the colostomy bag in future.
The operation will be done in Port Elizabeth or at Cape Town’s Red Cross Children’s Hospital soon.
The mother said her daughter was forced to leave school because her bag upset other kids. An NGO called Section27 is fighting for her to return to the school.
