The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday announced the lifting of the five-week suspension slammed on the former national chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

The lifting of the suspension on Tukur was confirmed to THISDAY by the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh.

Metuh told THISDAY that the decision was taken by the NWC and announced yesterday in Yola during the President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign rally in the Adamawa State capital.

Metuh also said the party commended and appreciated Tukur for mobilising Nigerians for the president’ re-election bid.

Tukur was suspended on December 12 2014, for his attempt to unseat the incumbent national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu though the courts.
