The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State which hitherto has been factionalized with as many as four people laying claims to the chairmanship of the party in the council area has finally come together to close ranks and harmonize positions.

At a stakeholders and supporters interactive meeting convened recently by a chieftain of the party and former Security Adviser to the Anambra State Government, Chief Jude Osude in conjunction with the factional chairmen at Ekwulobia, headquarters of AguataLocal Government Area, all the chairmen agreed to step down with a view to ensuring that peace reigns and everybody carried along.
It was one interactive session in which supporters and stakeholders of the party from the council area, like the member representing Anambra South Senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Andy Uba, the member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Mrs.) Eucharia Azodo, the constituency’s former Representative in the House Representatives, Nze Chidi Duru, House of Representatives  aspirant in the area, and former member of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Chike Anyaonu, Senator  Ugochukwu Uba, Hon. Tim Egboka as well as other stalwarts of the party in the area and supporters spoke freely of their grievances and tasked members to close ranks and work to strengthen the party.
They all expressed the desire to harmonize positions in the local government chapter of the party. The harmonization, the stakeholders insisted must throw up a credible executive to be piloted by people of sound political pedigree and impeccable character who can win the confidence and trust of members.

The stakeholders later agreed to convene an all inclusive harmonization meeting in the nearest future.
The convener, Chief Osude told THISDAY that he was elated at the large turnout of members which clearly showed that Aguata is a PDP local government area. He said there was no reason why another party should win in the area given the massive support the party enjoys there and urged all those complaining of being marginalized in the past to forgive and forget and join hands to strength the party in the council area and work for its progress.
