Veteran actor, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey Inyang has broken his silence after several years on his take on the actors' governing body, Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Speaking exclusively to Pulse, Ekpeyong Bassey Inyang reminisced on how a conscious movement by Ifeanyi Dike and Emmanuel Anyalogwu evolved into the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

In his words, "I remembered and knew when a conscious movement by Prince Ifeanyi Dike, Emmanuel Anyalogwu was made to create a forum where actors would meet and discuss for a common goal. What they did at that time was quite sacrificial, they spent their money and even gave visiting actors transport fare back home and that movement evolved into what is now known and referred to as AGN, the Actors Guild of Nigeria."

Speaking further on how he feels about the current state of the guild and the tussle for leadership among actors, the St. Mary star said the actions of Emeka Ike and his members are strange.

'For me, I think it is really strange, I think Ibinabo is a maverick, who has done and outdone herself. I have known her long before she came into the industry and personally, I also know she has also been a sacrificial person and that quality is what she has brought to play as the president of the guild on AGN platform.

'I don't know what is playing out right now, I don't know whether it has to do with media representation but the facts of the matter is that Ibinabo was never in contention with Emeka Ike. Emeka Ike hadhis own situation with Segun Arinze and Segun Arinze had reigned and passed on the baton, so I don't see where Ibinabo is involved, I can't imagine why the court would look at that or if the court has been used but we are all sitting back and watching unless the court is planning to destroy the actors guild of Nigeria because a lot of us are planning to dissociate ourselves from the guild if they succeed in kicking Ibinabo out of office without thorough and convincing investigation and due process,' he said.
